Since the Holy Trinity church was opened in 1848, it has been the focal point of worship in the parish. During this period the world has seen much political unrest and social and economic change, including two world wars. The church has provided parishioners with a centre of fellowship and spiritual refuge. The church building was enlarged in 1891 to cater for the growing population on Henley. The enlargement retained its decoration of flint and stone to match the original design of Benjamin Ferrey.
Nothing too elaborate, just plain and simple. The Lenten season is upon us again, and it is interesting to see people giving up this or that activity or food for the forty days and forty nights of Lent in imitation of Jesus Christ. It is also interesting to note that the 40 days of the temptation of Christ by Satan had a two fold purpose. If by giving up a few things for Lent is going to help you achieve these things then go for it. Fasting in itself will achieve little without daily and regular prayer, .
